When the power goes out, the useful question is not “is it just me?” but “how wide is this?”. OutageWatch answers it by combining reported outages into a live map.

What it does
- Crowdsourced outage reports, grouped by area rather than counted one by one
- A live map that updates without pulling to refresh
- Alerts when a new outage appears near a saved location
- Per-operator overview so you can tell a local fault from a regional one
How it is built
- Flutter app with a persistent WebSocket connection
- Reports stored in PostgreSQL and clustered by location
- Server-side de-duplication so one street does not become fifty reports
- Map rendering with a tile provider, no API key in the client
